With an undergraduate Engineering degree and graduate studies in automation and computer aided design, John has 30 years of experience delivering and managing technology solutions and departments for large publicly traded manufacturing companies. John has developed strategic technology plans, implemented large scale technology projects, and managed large staff departments and key service delivery partners. John recently joined Interpodia as an advisor and is expected to take on an operational role in the company during the first half of 2019.
John's passion for sport, specifically cycling, has seen him compete at a high level, lead clubs, run events, and coach athletes. Combining his business and leadership skills, he’s been elected to positions on the board of Cycling BC and Cycling Canada. At Cycling Canada, John recently held the position of President and Board Chair for 10 years, during which time Cycling Canada went through considerable growth and transformation. John has also worked closely with cycling's international governing body, UCI Union Cycliste Internationale, based in Aigle Switzerland, in various consultative and advisory capacities.
Pieter is a seasoned advisor, investor and mentor who focuses on advising technology companies on capital raising, M&A and restructuring activities. Pieter is director and CFO at E-Fund, a Vancouver-based angel investment fund. He is also chairman of Lambda Solutions Inc., a cloud-based learning company. Previously, he co-founded and invested in Actenum Corporation and structured the start, financing and exit of ClearVision Technologies. Since 2018 he is a director of Vancouver’s Angel Forum. Prior to relocating to Vancouver, Pieter held a number of senior positions in the project and corporate finance divisions of UBS in Hong Kong where he was responsible for financial advisory, arranging and restructuring mandates in Asia. Prior to joining UBS, he worked for Barclays Bank in Hong Kong and London. Pieter holds a Master’s degree in Economic and Social History from the Erasmus Universiteit in The Netherlands where he also studied law.
As the co-founder of the group, he has intricate knowledge of both our system and business solutions needed by sporting organizations. He has been involved in every significant client project since the company started, including all cycling associations we work with, complicated inter-provincial and international series events, all triathlon associations we work with and more complex event/club implementations. By having regular meetings with clubs, events and oversight bodies, he is able to have a firm grasp on each stakeholders (sometimes conflicting needs) as well as the user perspective as an athlete himself.
Phil liaises closely with the technical team and customer support to ensure the right and left hand of any project are in tandem during a project. It is his close involvement that has led to our success in implementing the solutions for our many clients. One point that must be emphasized is Phil’s passion for ensuring we deliver and taking pride in a job well done.
As a Chartered Accountant and former audit partner of a global accounting firm, Rupert has over 26 years of experience of assisting and advising small and medium size private enterprises and not for profits. Rupert’s role is to ensure measurable value is delivered. He has experience of working with event organizers, retailers, distributors and the not-for-profit sector. Having worked with internal controls, financial modelling, forecasts, operational performance reviews, risk management and benchmarking, he brings senior financial and business experience to the team and the eventual solution. As the co-founder of the group with Phil Mowatt, he also liaises with senior client representatives with regard to overall project and relationship building/management and brainstorming. He has been involved with all significant clients of the group since their on-boarding.
